Asset allocation approach

Invest for the long haul. Dynamically allocate among a diversified group of asset classes to reflect changing market conditions.

Cost Efficient

Fees directly reduce investment returns. Low cost advisory and fund fees are critical to achieving goals.

Planning for what matters

Build a holistic financial plan. Taxes, insurance, retirement planning, and psychology are critically important to long term success.

Communication

Marshall founded Ten Talents Asset Management to combine his love of investing with his penchant for service. Marshall’s role as Chief Investment Officer and Financial advisor gives him the ability to partner with clients to help them be the best stewards of their wealth that they can be.  After spending most of his career at JP Morgan Asset Management, Marshall too often saw clients being taken advantage of and investment advisors using strategies not consistent with financial research and data.  Ten Talents Asset Management is Marshall’s solution to an industry teeming with advisors more intent on charging high fees and using expensive investment strategies than understanding their clients’ needs and communicating frequently with them.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Furman University with degrees in Business Administration and Economics, Marshall spent time in corporate lending at PNC Bank before moving to JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was a Client Portfolio Manager, specializing in high yield corporate bonds.  Marshall attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he earned a Masters of Business Administration with a specialty in Finance.  Marshall also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

When he’s not studying the markets, Marshall can be found spending time in Cincinnati with his wife, Adair, and daughters, Lee Alice and Sarah.  He enjoys running with his dogs, playing board games with friends and family, and serving on his church’s tech team.
